OSC v3 is a total revamp of the standard checkout process in Magento. While the Magento One Page Checkout is nice and simple, it still is a multi-step checkout process and usually this means lower conversion rates. The core feature of OSC is that it reduces the six standard Magento checkout steps down to one.
OneStepCheckout simplifies the checkout process of your Magento store. Checking out is often the most complicated part of online shopping, and many users end up abandoning their order, due to the complexity of the checkout forms. OneStepCheckout greatly simplifies this process, leading to an immediate increase in sales. Depending on your sales volume, optimizing the checkout process could mean an increase in revenues even up to 60%.
Additionally, OSC is easy to integrate and fully compatible with your Magento store – no core files are modified and future upgrades won’t affect the OSC installation. There are three editions of the OneStepCheckout module: Standard (€245), Professional (€345) and Enterprise (€590). There are two key differences between these versions; First, the Professional and Enterprise editions fully supports the Professional and Enterprise edition of the Magento ecommerce platform. Second, the Enterprise license allows for use on unlimited domains, while the Standard and Professional edition only allows use on a single domain.
The Standard edition is not a stripped down version of our checkout module. It offers the same features, but it does not include support for the Magento Professional and Magento Enterprise editions.
The Standard edition is for the smaller Magento Community stores that can install the module themselves, and only need to use it for a single domain. It comes with free upgrades for 6 months after purchase. The Standard edition does not support Magento Professional and Magento Enterprise features like store credit and reward points. |
The Professional edition is for stores that are running Magento Professional or Magento Enterprise versions. It fully supports all features of both these Magento versions, including use of store credit as well as reward points directly in the checkout page. This version allows for use on a single domain only, and comes with 6 months free upgrades after purchase. |
The Enterprise edition is for customers that needs to use our checkout for multiple domains and have high demands for support. The Enterprise license covers all Magento platforms and versions, and offers lifetime support and upgrades. It also comes with free installation. |

The software package contains the following:
– All extension files to be uploaded to your Magento store
– Installation guide
– Customization guide
– User manual which describes all settings and configuration options
– PSD file with graphical elements like buttons and icons
OneStepCheckout is thoroughly tested and compatible with Magento Community version 1.0 to 1.4, and also including Magento Enterprise version 1.5 – 1.9, as well as Magento Professional 1.8. It utilizes the JavaScript library Prototype which is already bundled with the Magento ecommerce platform. It also supports all the modern versions of Firefox, Opera, Chrome (including all Webkit browsers), Safari, and Internet Explorer versions 6, 7 and 8.
The source code is not encrypted in any way and you are free to make customizations and changes to both the backend code as well as the frontend code. By customizing the backend code, you can add new functionality as you desire, and it is possible to add/remove new attributes (for example “How did you hear about us”) fairly simple, and much more.
The structure of the OneStepCheckout files is packaged following the Magento guidelines for developing extensions, which means that any Magento web developer will be familiar with the structure and should be able to find the template and CSS files that are used with ease. The same goes for the underlying backend code.
